Summary[]
The gang set the Gromble up on a date with the Library Monster after seeing him swoon over her.
Plot[]
At the library, The Gromble, exhausted and soporific, lets his class leave early while he is alone with the Library Monster. The Gromble finds that Ickis is still inside and as he is about to demand him out, the Library Monster reminds him that he forgot his bone. The Gromble nicely sends Ickis out of the library and falls for the Library Monster.
Meanwhile, at The Monsters' dorm room, Ickis tells his friends what happened and the trio surmise that the Gromble has a squish on the Library Monster. The Gromble arrives inside the dorm and asks Oblina if he could speak to him alone. When Ickis and Krumm exit the dorm, Gromble asks Oblina for advice to dating. Oblina tells the Gromble that he has a "dynamic" personality and the Gromble asks The Monsters where he should take her out.
The Gromble is later seen with the Library Monster at the side of the river. Ickis, Krumm, and Oblina offer the two on a boat ride as the boat rides through a tunnel. The couple are later seen walking through the dump. The Library Monster tells the Gromble that she had the impression that he was mean and angry, for he often yells at his students right before denying that it is his original personality. The Gromble convinces her that he yells at his students out of a demand of respect and that his real personality is that of a "pussycat." Ickis offers Gromble a bouquet of trout, which the Gromble gives to the Library Monster.
When Ickis, Krumm, and Oblina offer the couple food for their date, they accidentally drop food on the Gromble and the headmaster tries really hard to squelch his anger. He runs out in private and releases his rage. He returns to the Library Monster and Oblina asks if the Gromble and the Library Monster would like to dance. The trio sing a song for them and while dancing, the Library Monster accidentally steps on one of the Gromble's feet. The Gromble suggests that he and the Library Monster should go inside the academy to remember the night as it is.
Later, the Gromble enters the trio's room and tells them that the Library Monster likes him due to being nice, and if he sustains his kindness for so long, he will go ballistic. Krumm tells him that the only way to prevent this is by telling the Library Monster how he really feels and be himself instead of pretending to be what he isn't. So the Gromble meets the Library Monster in the library and is about to tell her about his true personality. When Ickis comes around and tries to persuade the Gromble to stay nice, the Gromble finally exposes his catharsis and berates the young monster for his annoying habit. The Library Monster decides that the Gromble is too loud for her and the headmaster leaves the library heartbroken. He then meets a female custodian monster who shares his personality and the two fall for each other.
